Norwood Ducks Swim Team Eligibility
To participate in the Norwood Pool Swim Team Program, a child must be:

• A member of the Norwood Pool.
• Between the ages of 6 and 18.
• Able to swim 2 lengths (50m) of the pool with a reasonable stroke (subject to a coach’s approval), and tread water for 1 minute.
• Be familiar with breast, back, and freestyle strokes.
• The coaches hold the right to ask some swimmers to sign up for swim lessons to learn basic techniques.

Ducklings Eligibility
The Norwood Ducklings is a program for swimmers who would like to participate in the swim team but whose swimming skills are developing.
The Duckling Program is open to any child who is a member of the Norwood pool, who can swim the width of the pool, and is comfortable in the deep end. Your duckling should also feel comfortable floating on their back and putting their face in the water. The Duckling program is not a substitute for swim lessons. Usually, these children will range in age from 4 to 7. Ducklings should complete level 5 of swim lessons at Norwood or an equivalent level at other pools before proceeding to swim team.

Note to Parents
The success of our Swim Team program is dependent on the strong commitment of both the swimmers and the parents. Please be available to assist at the meets, we need Timers, Officials, Concessions and more!

Midlakes Division IV Pools:
Norwood competes in the Midlakes summer swim league, in the Division IV classification (fourth of five divisions).
Because of the changes to the Division lineups, Norwood competes against some different pools this year.
